How to create a google account

Here I will explain to you the procedure of logging in to Picasa with the help of screenshots. In case you find the screenshots are not clear to you, just click on them for a bigger view.

Step 1 : If you have a gmail account like yourname@gmail.com go directly to Step 9. If you do not have a gmail account but have any other email account like yahoo, hotmail, rediff, etc. just follow all the steps below.

Step 2 : Open this website : http://www.google.com/ and click on the “Sign in” button as indicated by red markings below.

Step 3 : You will see the following screen – click on the “create one for free” link as indicated below :

Step 4 : You will get a screen like below :

Step 5 : You have to fill up all the text boxes – your email id/account which is other than gmail of course, or you wouldn’t be doing this step at all. Then your password twice just to make sure that you didn’t make a typing error as you cannot see what you are typing. Select your country and feed the word verification just to tell Google you are not a robot who might be going on making accounts which could crash the google server. Read the Google Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy and if acceptable to you, the button which says “I accept. Create my account.”

Step 6 : Next your screen will look something like this - you may close this window.

Step 7 : You will receive an email from accounts-noreply@google.com. It might take a while but you should definitely receive it within an hour or so. If you don’t find it in your inbox, please check your spam or bulk folder.

The email you receive will begin like this :
Welcome to Google Accounts. To activate your account and verify your e-mailaddress, please click on the following link:

You have to click on the link below this text in the e-mail you have received.

Step 8 : When you click on the link in your email, this is what you will get.

Step 9 : Now click on the link which says "click here to manage your account profile".
